Book individual and group rail tickets across Finland with VR, Finland’s national railway operator.

Travel comfortably on modern trains, including Pendolino Plus, Pendolino and InterCity services. VR offers Eko Class for standard travel and Ekstra Class for added comfort, with quieter seating options available in Ekstra Calm and more spacious seating on selected trains. On the new Pendolino Plus trains, travellers can also choose Ekstra Plus, offering an enhanced level of comfort and personal service.

From Helsinki, travellers can easily reach cities and destinations across Finland, including Turku, Tampere, Lappeenranta, Kuopio and Joensuu. Eastern Finland offers access to the beautiful Saimaa Lake Region and Koli National Park, with its scenic landscapes and views over Lake Pielinen, making rail travel a convenient way to explore the region. 

For journeys to Finnish Lapland, VR night trains connect Helsinki with Rovaniemi, Kolari and Kemijärvi. Private sleeping compartments provide a comfortable way to travel overnight, with selected cabins offering a private shower and toilet. Night trains allow travellers to cover long distances while saving daytime travel time and the cost of an additional hotel night.

Oulu is an important railway hub in northern Finland, with direct connections from Helsinki and onward services towards Lapland. Travellers can also continue from Oulu by train to Haparanda, Sweden, with onward connections to Luleå and the Swedish railway network.
